Nourishing Compassion in Health & Education

September 2, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Free

As Clinicians and Educators – how do we nurture the compassion we aspire to in ourselves and in our students ?

This unique workshop brings together old and new and shows us a way – by coming back to ourselves.

Leicester Medical School, Warwick University and the University of Buckinghamshire Medical School have been at the cutting edge of introducting mindfulness to a whole new generation of clinicians.

Thich Nhat Hanh, considered by many to be the father of “Western mindfulness” has spent a lifetime developing and teaching practical mindfulness tools to millions of people all over the world. Although 90 year old Thay (as his students call him) is no longer able to travel, his monastics continue his work. This September we are privileged to have senior monks and nuns visit from Thay’s Plum Village centre in France and share their time and presence with us in Leicester.

We warmly invite you to join us in this journey of transformation of our entire beings — body, mind, heart, and brain – so we can be instruments of learning and compassion, moment by moment.
