Retreat: Happy Teachers Change the World (Germany)

June 18, 2019 - June 26, 2019

Retreat with Tineke Spruytenburg and Miles Dunmore – in English only

This international retreat in the Plum Village Tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh will be organized by both lay teachers and monastics. It is directed towards all those involved in education: teachers and school administrators. It is open for both beginners and experienced practitioners.

The main focus of the retreat will be on:
– Guided sitting and walking meditation, mindful eating and deep relaxation in order to develop and deepen our personal experience of mindfulness.
– Reflection over what it means to act mindfully in our everyday interactions in school life.
– Study of the book ‘Happy Teachers Change the World’ by Thich Nhat Hanh and Professor Katherine Weare.
– Mindfulness strategies that can be implemented in the class room and in schools.
Even though this course is geared towards teachers in international schools, educators from other schools are also welcome.

Course language: English
The lay teachers kindly ask for a donation. Please give this directly to the teacher during the course.
